Eye Makeup Tips and Tricks
|
|
No matter if blue, brown, hazel or green, eyes have been referred to as “windows to the soul,” giving those who exchange glances the power to better grasp one’s personality and emotions. Eyes reveal joy and elation as much as they uncover sadness, melancholy and distress. Eyes can also exercise a special power of seduction by casting an enchanting gaze in another’s direction. No matter what your motives, playing up the look of your eyes will bring a natural definition to your facial features while accentuating perhaps the most distinguishing characteristic on your visage. The main makeup components to consider when dressing up your eyes are mascara, eye shadow and possibly eyeliner. Depending on the hues you wish to use, you can get a little colorful and creative with the wide selection of products for eyelids on the market. No longer do you have to sift through dozens of shades of eye shadow powder looking for the perfect blend… now you can accessorize your eyes with a beautiful array of powders, creams and glittery dustings. Traditional eye shadow powders are very easy to use with small applicator brushes and foam pads. For a dimensional look, blend two colors of powder or one color of powder atop a cream shadow base.
- Cream-based eye shadows
Less really is more. The cream shadows generally come in small squeeze tubes that really enhance the look of your eyes with a light application across the lid, reaching up to your brows if you wish. Not sure about colors? Go with something neutral, the first couple of times until you get the hang of it. Apply a light dusting of bronze or shimmery transparent color for a gentle hint of color.
- Mascara
When selecting mascara, many factors come into play, with each brand’s newest addition to the line claiming bigger and better benefits. From thickening, to lengthening, to blackest black, waterproof and curling, each mascara product has a special offering of its own. Considering your own lashes, choose one that best suits your needs.
- Eyeliner
To define your eyes, apply a thin line of eyeliner in black or brown, khaki, plum or navy. To properly apply the eyeliner pencil or liquid liner, gently pull the corner of your eye outward, forming a straight line along your lashes. Starting at the inside corner and working toward the outside, delicately trace a line with the pencil angled toward your lashes. Be careful how much eyeliner you apply, as a little really does go a long way. For a dramatic look, thicker and darker is acceptable. For a subtle definition, stick with a lighter application.
Feel free to experiment with a bunch of different products until you find the ones that suit you best. If you experience difficulty in selecting an appropriate moisturizer for your skin, consult IMO Master for suggestions. If you know your skin type, choose a product created especially for you!

The Right Way to Blow Dry
|
|
Blow-drying is the fastest most convenient way to get your hair done in the morning, especially if you are in a rush. Moreover, using a dryer adds volume to the hair. However, it is also dangerous to the hair, especially if overdone as this can make the hair very brittle.
If you blow dry your hair, make sure that it is not soaking. Blot the water out with a towel first. Do not hold the dryer too close to your head; keep it at least six inches away from your hair and move the dryer constantly around your head. You may now use a round brush to smooth the hair out, add volume and shine and create a style.

The Right Way to Wash Hair
|
|
The first thing you should do is comb the tangles out of the hair before you wet it. You can use either warm or cold water if you like, but for best results, wet your hair with warm water to open the scale-like cuticles and wash all the oil and dirt off and rid it of styling aids. Rinse your hair with cold water afterwards to close the cuticles and add to the shine of your hair.
Rinse your hair under the shower to rid it of the leave-on conditioner and styling aids you have used previously, using gentle strokes of your fingertips. Then, pour a dollop of shampoo in the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together, and then apply the shampoo to your scalp. Take note that you should put the shampoo on your scalp and not at the ends of your hair, as the shampoo would dry your hair's ends and cause it to weaken and split. Also, do not mix your hair all over your head as you shampoo because it will get all tangled up. After this, rinse the shampoo off.
More often than not, we need to shampoo our hair for a second time. The purpose of the first shampoo is to clean the oil and dirt off; the second shampoo is needed to treat the hair. Rinse the hair completely after this.
To get the excess water off your hair, just squeeze the water out. Do not pull or tug at the hair because the hair is at its most delicate when it is wet. When the excess water is out, apply a dollop of conditioner - mane event - and apply it along the hairline, the nape and the ends of the hair. For a deep conditioning treatment; pile your hair inside a shower cap and let the conditioner stay there for around ten minutes for a deep treatment, rinse completely.
